Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to create a structured procedure for evaluating and revising the course materials provided by NLSA. This policy describes the standards, obligations, and processes to be followed in order to maintain the accuracy, applicability, and alignment of the course materials with NLSA educational objectives.

 

Scope

This policy is applicable to all courses provided by NLSA. It includes both the creation of fresh course materials and the review and revision of already existing course content.

 

Review Guidelines and Criteria

The following guidelines shall govern the review procedure:

Accuracy: The information in the course materials should be accurate, current, and derived from dependable sources.
Relevance: The content should align with the course objectives, reflect current practices and industry standards, and meet the needs of the target audience.
Clarity and Accessibility: Course materials should be presented in a clear, concise, and easily understandable manner.
Currency: Course content should be regularly reviewed to ensure it reflects the latest advancements, research, and best practices in the respective field.

 

Course Content Review Process

The following steps outline the course content review process:

Review Schedule: A regular review schedule will be established.
Reviewers: Instructional designers, and/or faculty members will be responsible for conducting the content review.
Review Criteria: Reviewers will evaluate the course content based on the guidelines and criteria outlined in Review Guidelines and Criteria.
Content Modification: If any updates or modifications are required, the reviewers will provide specific recommendations for changes or additions to improve the content.
Approval and Implementation: The proposed changes will be reviewed and approved by the appropriate authorities within NLSA. Once approved, the revised course content will be implemented.

 

Ongoing Quality Assurance

The NLSA will put in place procedures such as, learner feedback, assessment results, and opportunities for instructors to continue their professional development to guarantee ongoing quality assurance. These actions will support the continual enhancement of the course material and help identify areas that require improvement.

 

Compliance with Intellectual Property and Copyright Laws

It is essential to protect intellectual property rights and abide by copyright rules when reviewing the course content. Reviewers are responsible for ensuring that all course materials are compliant with applicable copyright laws or that any copyrighted items are used with the proper authorisation and referencing where applicable.

 

Communication and Transparency

NLSA will communicate the course content review policy and procedures to instructors and reviewers. Regular updates and notifications will be provided regarding any significant revisions or modifications to the course content.

This Course Content Review Policy will be periodically reviewed and updated as necessary to reflect changes in educational practices, technology advancements, and industry standards.
