Harvard University’s Peabody Museum was engaged by Aramco to conduct twice-yearly week-long museum-focused workshops on behalf of the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture. In the beginning Laurence was our point of contact and later, a valued colleague. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Laurence over the past three years.

I worked with Laurence in spreading awareness of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC’s) in Saudi Aramco, Laurence has been a pioneer advocate of MOOC’s with the advent of the likes of Udacity, Coursera & Edx platforms. Last year, we’ve been successful in formally recognizing the first company employee who achieved a verified specialization certificate in Data Analytics from John Hopkins University on Coursera platform. Laurence has been a wealth of knowledge and a great resource to the company.
As program chair, Dr. Laurence was able to execute the course, while coordinating both company and academic requirements. The program saw the light of day to his academic vision and vigilant execution, leading to many employees completing the course successfully and becoming subject matter experts in their departments in the field of PR & Communications. Dr. Laurence was extremely motivating towards me by letting me know how well I was doing and how brightly I was shining, which made me work even harder. I will never forget his guidance, support and mentorship.

I first worked with Dr. Brown when he was the Director of Learning at King Abdulaziz Centre for World Culture, the cultural arm of Saudi Aramco. During that period, Dr. Brown was in charge of all training and learning aspects for The Center’s staff. I’ve known Dr. Laurence Brown as the academic chair of a company-sponsored Michigan State University post-grad programme in advanced PR and communications in late 2013. Laurence Brown provided invaluable cultural, educational and logistical support on my first two visits to Saudi Aramco.
